In 2022, we launched Vinteum around a simple idea: Bitcoin development should be as decentralized and global as Bitcoin itself.
Three years later, that idea has grown into an ecosystem for finding, training, connecting, and funding open-source Bitcoin contributors across Brazil.
We’ve built a path that starts with education and community through programs like the Bitcoin Dev Launchpad, Mastering Seminars, BitDevs meetups, and Casa21, and extends into fellowships and long-term grants for developers working on critical Bitcoin infrastructure.
Along the way, developers supported by Vinteum have contributed to projects including Bitcoin Core, BDK, Floresta and Utreexo, LND, Stratum V2, Rust-Bitcoin, Bitcoinfuzz, BTCPay Server, and open-source hardware wallets. Some arrived with little or no experience contributing to Bitcoin and went on to become maintainers, full-time open-source developers, and mentors for the next generation.
Our Three Years Report tells the story of how Vinteum came to be, the people and projects we’ve supported, the programs and community we’ve built, and what we’ve learned about creating sustainable pathways into open-source Bitcoin development.
Three years in, the goal remains the same: build the local foundations that make Bitcoin development more global, resilient, and decentralized.
